Since 1967, the Prince Albert Council for the Arts has been a passionate advocate for the arts in Prince Albert and the surrounding region. For nearly six decades, the Council has worked to ensure that arts and culture remain an important part of community life by supporting artists, organizations, and creative opportunities for people of all ages.

Working collaboratively with the City of Prince Albert and the Mann Art Gallery, the Council promotes and develops the arts through public programming and by organizing exhibitions in the John V. Hicks Gallery, located within the Margo Fournier Arts Centre.

The Council believes that a thriving arts community enriches the lives of residents, strengthens community connections, and contributes to the cultural identity of Prince Albert.
Prince Albert Arts Centre
In recognition of its longstanding commitment to the arts, the Prince Albert Council for the Arts was inducted into the Prince Albert Arts Hall of Fame in 2017, honouring decades of volunteer leadership and community service.
Over the years, the Council has created and supported programs that inspire creativity, celebrate local artists, and make the arts accessible to everyone. For more than 40 years, the Council has proudly organized the Evergreen Artisan Market, one of the region's premier artisan markets. The market showcases talented Saskatchewan makers while raising funds to support youth arts programming in the community.

The Council also sponsors the Open Art Studio, a free art program for young artists ages 8 to 16, providing a welcoming space where creativity can flourish and artistic confidence can grow.

Through its partnership with the Mann Art Gallery, the Council sponsors awards for the Annual Art Exhibition, recognizing excellence and encouraging artists at every stage of their creative journey.

Beyond its own programming, the Prince Albert Council for the Arts supports the many arts guilds, clubs, and cultural groups that call the Margo Fournier Arts Centre home. The Council also hosts art adjudication events, helping artists receive valuable professional feedback while encouraging artistic growth and excellence.

Today, the Prince Albert Council for the Arts continues to build on its legacy by advocating for the arts, fostering collaboration, and creating opportunities for artists and the community to connect through creative experiences.

Our Vision: The arts are valued and an integral part of the community.

Our Mission: To facilitate, engage, and support our diverse community through the arts as they continuously evolve
